Route Overview

The Corridor Route from Borrowdale offers a far more scenic and varied ascent than the Wasdale path. Starting from Seathwaite Farm, the route follows the valley stream to the historic stone Stockley Bridge. From here, you climb steeply up towards Styhead Tarn, a beautiful body of water sitting in a mountain pass. Crossing Sty Head, you enter the Corridor Routeβ€”a thrilling traverse along the western flanks of Great End and Broad Crag, featuring deep ravines, rocky steps, and a minor scramble. After reaching the summit, the descent goes via Esk Hause and follows the stunning Grains Gill stream back down into Seathwaite.
