Route Overview

This is the most famous short walk in Surrey. From Westhumble station, a flat path takes you to the banks of the River Mole. Here, you cross the 17 iconic stepping stones (first installed in the 19th century). On the other side, you climb a steep but well-maintained flight of wooden stairs straight to the top of Box Hill. After resting at the viewpoint, the trail circles back down through a winding woodland trail.
